The office also undertakes assessments of damages to buildings, in particular for constructions made of earth. These can serve as a basis for developing appropriate renovation or conservation strategies or as expert assessments as evidence for private purposes or court action. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christof Ziegert is an accredited consulting engineer and surveyor of 'damages to earth constructions' (IHK Berlin). Furthermore, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Lars Fechner (another member of the office), is qualified as a timber preservation surveyor.

Our investigation and assessment work is conducted using a variety of specialised equipment including but not limited to; a pendulum hammer, adhesive strength testing apparatus, video endoscopes, reinforcement metal detectors, an abrasion testing device as well as accurate humidity and temperature gauges. In our own in house laboratory further investigations into building elements can also be undertaken.
